Not only did these not work for my daughter, it put her in the hospital. She became so violently ill, she had to be transported by ambulance to the local emergency room. I would recommend to anyone who wants to purchase this, to make sure that they will not react to any ingredients.

Here’s my story, I’m a young adult with IBS, GERD, and severe lactose intolerance (which aggravates both my IBS and GERD). Needless to say, when I eat dairy, I don’t just get bloated and have diarrhea, the pain can sometimes be excruciating. Gas no longer feels less like the pressure and needle-like pain it did as a kid, it now feels more like someone thrust a knife into my stomach and a pressure so excruciating it feels like I’ll pass out.
Okay, now that you have my diagnosis and symptomatology, let me explain my experience so other IBS sufferers out know what to expect with this product (when I say “expect,” I only mean generally, as everyone’s GI will be in a different state as far as bacteria, PH, etc). I used this product as described, 2 pills for one day, then 1 pill, and then gradually reintroduced the lactose-containing products. I found that bloating rarely occurred (this was a sign that the product DID work to some extent, as I always react to dairy with bloating). However, I still have occasional diarrhea that lasts several uncomfortable hours. I also recently had GI-upset along with diarrhea and nausea. I have also noted that depending on the particular type of dairy, some will affect you, others will not (heavy cream, milk, soft cheeses are still problematic).
In conclusion, VERY CAREFULLY recognize all your symptoms with dairy, as well as which dairy products cause worse outcomes. This product did not get rid of all my symptoms with dairy, but it did get rid of the horrible bloating. I am going to purchase my usual lactase tablets to take with all the problematic dairy products listed above, but I might still take them with other dairy as well. As lactase tablets are sometimes not enough, I think this product is good as an agonist to the effectiveness of lactase. However, this product should not be seen as a miracle cure for lactose intolerance as is touted by some reviewers and by the company itself. Always exercise caution when changing your diet. Self-medication is something that we as humans tend to do (sometimes without even thinking about it). At the same rate, you should always err on the side of caution and speak with your doctor about any changes you’re making.

For many years, lactose intolerance has been a big problem for me. I was happy when I discovered Lactaid, but frustrated with having to take a pill before each meal. I was very bad at carrying the pills with me and would often end up not having any Lactaid when I needed it most.
Then I discovered Digestive Advantage. I just take one pill every morning and it seems to do wonders for helping me digest lactose. While I still have to limit dairy consumption, the amount of dairy I can consume has increased dramatically. Reasonable amounts of cheese and ice cream, for example, are of no concern to me. This morning I had a bowl of cereal with a small amount of regular milk and still feel great hours later. (However, a full glass of milk would still be too much to drink at once and would leave me feeling uncomfortable due to the lactose)
It’s nice to once again have that freedom to eat just about whatever I want and not be worried about how I will feel several hours later. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from lactose intolerance.

Work great once a days and little to no loose stool from dairy any more.

I suffered from extreme Lactose Intolerance for about 20 years. Although my pockets were stuffed with Lactaid whenever I went out, I needed at least 3 Lactaid Ultra pills before I could enjoy an ice cream cone, and even then I calculated the distance to the nearest restroom. For those with normal digestive tracts, I’m sure this sounds gross, but for those with Lactose Intolerance, it probably describes many days of your life. At it’s worst, I would even get ill if I ate something made with butter if I didn’t take Lactaid.
Once in high school I got sick after eating Pop Rocks- who would have guessed that Lactose was one of the main ingredients? By that point, I memorized almost every product’s ingredients on the grocery store shelves, and whenever people offered me food I wasn’t familiar with I asked to read the ingredients before deciding if I would try it…
So the great news is that Digestive Adnvantage’s Lactose Intolerance supplement has solved my problems with most things Lactose. I take the pills regularly (one every morning), and I can essentially eat whatever I want without worrying about the ingredients. That said, I don’t drink my weight in milk or get a triple-scoop ice cream cone, but I am perfectly fine after eating cholate, cakes, pizza, cheeses, creamy deserts, etc. I highly recommend this product for those with Lactose Intolerance, although based on reading other reviews it doesn’t appear to work as well for everyone.
