Trend Micro Antivirus + Antispyware 2010
I’m not a techie so I wouldn’t know where to begin with the ins and outs of why and how a virus protection program works. We used this for awhile at work and I was impressed with how it interacted with our programs. I read the reviews before I installed Trend Micro and decided not to put it on the computer with Vista. This program was installed on an older computer (about five or six years old) that has been running very slow. After removing the other virus protection programs, I installed Trend Micro and it immediately found spyware and a virus that the other program had not uncovered or discovered. After configuring the computer according to Trend Micro’s repair/fix recommendations, it is now running faster than it has for the last two years. I’m so impressed with the program that I’m going to install it on my laptop and netbook once the current virus protection programs expire!

Honestly, I believe that all AV software is pretty good at providing protection. I have four PC’s and I run different AV software on all of them. Mostly because I get free versions to review. As of right now I am using McAfee, AVG, Viper and TrendMicro and they all work well.
What I like best about TrendMicro is that is stays out of the way (does not take up too many resources) and it installs and un-installs easily.
I wrestled with Norton and vowed to never, ever use them again. It simply took over my PC and it took forever to scrub it off my system; not so with TrendMicro; it runs very cleanly.
Very nice, great protection and easy on the system. That’s all I want out of a AV package.
PS – it would be nice if this included a Firewall, but that is why we have Comodo!

Trend Micro is known for reliable, easy to use software and security. AntiVirus + AntiSpyware 2010 builds on this reputation and brings us an even better product for 2010. Easy installation, total protection for internet users. The Amazon price is just about right for this product. Easy to install and easy to use without any extra bells or whistles. For the casual user, this product should be sufficient. But if you are an internet junkie, you’ll need something with a little more umph. Trend Micro makes excellent products which perform the duties they are intended to do. It’s fine for what it is – just don’t expect it to do something that is beyond what it is. Does not drag down your system every time it scans the way some other products do. That’s a big plus!

I prefer Trend Micro to MacAfee, Norton and other protection software. After years of fighting with protection software, it was a pleasure to use Trend Micro, which provides me the security I need without the compatibility headaches so common with this type of software.
Trend Micro AntiVirus + AntiSpyware allows you to send and receive email and share files with protection from malicious viruses, Trojan horse programs, and spyware. This product does not provide Internet security. For full protection, I recommend Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 3.0.
For home-use anti-virus/anti-spyware, I look for three things:
1. Easy to install and easy to use
2. Operates without slowing down my laptop
3. The software works; viruses and spyware are stopped before they cause trouble.
Trend Micro meets all of those expectations. I wrote a five-star review for Trend Micro Antivirus + Antispyware 2009, but noted that this is a basic level of security. Too often, consumers confuse the basic protection packages with the “Pro” versions.
BTW: Earlier this year I switched from IE to Firefox, which eliminated the frozen screens and slow Internet surfing I had been experiencing. I recommend Trend Micro and Firefox together, especially if you spend a lot of time conducting business on the Internet.

This program is OK for what it does. I have Trend Micro experience previously with an all encompassing internet security suite in past years.
All in all, I’m not real sure this is much better than Microsoft Security Essentials which I can get for free and basically does the same thing.
Not worth the money for just a virus/spyware product, I’d either upgrade to a full security suite or just stick with one of the many free, good programs available (AVG, Avira, Avast, MSE).
