It has 230 calories and 10gr protein which is very good, but it makes you feel sick when you eat it. I don’t know what do they put in this thing, but it’s just plain garbage! I ate it few hours before playing football for about two weeks, at first it was good, but I noticed that my skin was getting dull and too oily, my appetite for the real food was gone, and I was sick and tired all the time!

I did not find the taste of the Clif bar appetizing. The texture is chewy with a strong flavor of brand and oats emerging. The Clif bar uses more natural flavoring and offers smaller portions than you expect. The Clif bar lacks a sweetness from either sugar, honey, or fruit. I think it needs a sweeter taste to compliment the chewy texture.

Healthwise, I would think the Clif bar offers more nutritional value for its size. This is a trendy, hearty, and probably not too healthy food. The packaging makes the consumer believe the food offers the extra boost to finish up externally exertive actives like rock climbing. The bar is marketed as a health lifestyle food.

I was expecting better after the story of how these bars were developed because he felt that the available bars didn’t taste good – sorry – in my opinion these bars aren’t any better tasting than most of the others out there, and aren’t any cheaper either (except for special deals). The only nutrition bars that I’ve tasted that I personally think taste very good I’ve gotten from a local health food store, and unfortunately, I don’t remember the names, except for one – the “Bible bar”, which I thought was quite good.

Should have tried them before ordering 2 cases! Rather dry and flavorless. However, I like that they’re all natural and organic. Try one first or consider another flavor before ordering as many as I did.

I was almost certain this would taste like a piece of medium-density fibreboard, but the Black Cherry Almond flavor is not terribly bad. Made with oats and soybeans, you can count on a little strain on your jaw to digest it, but the organic brown syrup softens the bar quite a bit. I tried the one-ounce bar that came in a sample packet from Amazon, which was the perfect quantity for me, but I notice the standard size is 2.5 ounces. This may be a case where less is more since the flavor satisfaction quickly dissipates after the first bite. The larger bar would mean it is 250 calories of which 45 are from fat, so it’s not a diet bar. Rather, it’s most specifically for those who are already burning fat efficiently and increasing their metabolism. Given the graphic of the effortless rock climber on the package, I am guessing couch potatoes will find less to be excited about here since the tagline is “nutrition for sustained energy”. I guess it’s back to the Kit-Kats for the rest of us.
